Dear Parents and Community Members,
I hope this message finds you well as we move forward in the 2024-2025 school year. I want to take this opportunity to stress the critical role that consistent attendance, healthy habits, and responsible behavior play in the academic and personal success of our students. Together, we can ensure our students thrive and reach their full potential.
The Importance of Attendance
Regular school attendance is vital to student success. When students miss school, they miss valuable instructional time that cannot be fully recovered. Let us work together to prioritize attendance, ensuring that students are present and engaged in learning every day. If your child is ill or must miss school, please communicate with the office and their teacher to stay updated on assignments and lessons.
Healthy Eating and Sleeping Habits
A well-balanced diet and adequate sleep are essential for children to perform their best academically and socially. Encourage your child to eat nutritious meals and establish a consistent bedtime routine to support focus, energy, and overall well-being.
Completing Assignments and Being Prepared
Helping students stay organized and complete their assignments on time fosters responsibility and sets them up for success. Please check in regularly with your child about their progress and utilize tools like our online grade portal to stay informed. Teachers are always here to support, so do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
Being a Good Citizen
Encouraging respect, kindness, and integrity in our students builds a strong school community. By modeling and reinforcing these values at home, we can work together to create a positive and safe environment for all.
As we approach the end of the second trimester on February 28, 2025, I encourage families to remain engaged in their child’s academic journey. Parent-teacher conferences will take place during the week of March 10, 2025, providing an opportunity to discuss progress, review interim testing results, and collaborate on strategies to support your child’s success.
Looking ahead, our students will participate in the California Assessments of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) this coming May. These assessments measure critical thinking, problem-solving, and readiness for the next grade level. To prepare, students should continue developing strong study habits and engaging with classroom content. Interim assessment results will be shared during parent conferences to help identify areas for growth and celebration.
Thank you for your partnership and dedication to our school community. Together, we can ensure our students are equipped for success both in and out of the classroom. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warm regards,
Catherine Reimer, Ed.D.
