Eclipse
We had an amazing opportunity to witness a partial solar eclipse together. We took the time to observe this natural phenomenon safely, using our special eclipse glasses and discussing the science behind it!

Subject: Important Update: California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we approach the start date of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) on April 29, 2024, I wanted to take a moment to highlight the significance of this assessment and provide some tips to help ensure your child's success.

The CAASPP is a vital tool that helps us gauge your child's academic progress and the overall effectiveness of our educational programs here at San Ardo School. By participating in this assessment, your child not only contributes to the collective understanding of academic performance statewide but also receives valuable feedback that can guide their educational journey.

Here are a few tips to help your child prepare for and excel in the CAASPP:

  1. Encourage a Positive Attitude: Emphasize the importance of the assessment while also reminding your child to stay calm and confident. A positive mindset can greatly impact performance.

  2. Establish a Routine: Help your child establish a consistent study schedule leading up to the assessment. Reviewing materials regularly can reinforce learning and boost confidence.

  3. Provide Support: Offer your support and encouragement throughout the preparation process. Be available to answer questions, provide guidance, and offer assistance when needed.

  4. Ensure Adequate Rest and Nutrition: Adequate rest and nutrition are essential for optimal cognitive function. Encourage your child to get plenty of sleep and eat nutritious meals during the assessment period.

  5. Practice, Practice, Practice: Utilize available practice materials and resources to familiarize your child with the format and content of the assessment. Practice tests can help alleviate anxiety and build confidence.

  6. Emphasize Time Management: Remind your child to manage their time effectively during the assessment. Encourage them to pace themselves and allocate enough time for each section.

  7. Celebrate Effort and Progress: Regardless of the outcome, celebrate your child's effort and progress throughout the assessment process. Acknowledge their hard work and encourage them to continue striving for excellence.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help them succeed in the CAASPP and beyond.

Warm regards,

Catherine Reimer, Ed.D.
